9 Things To Do At The Aquaventure Park in Atlantis The Palm Dubai

By Pooja Sandhu

If you are travelling to Dubai with family or friends this is an experience you CANNOT miss!

With a wide spectrum of activities on offer, the Aquaventure Park is the perfect place to spend the entire day (even two days). From the exhilarating slides, including Zoomerango, Slitherine, and Aquaconda, to wave pools, there is something for people from all age groups.

Here are our top picks:

1. Shark Safari

Regardless of whether you have diving expertise or not, put on your diving helmet and enter the Shark Lagoon to get close to the aquatic life. Moving about and breathing will never be a problem in the safe and controlled underwater environment. Anyone over the age of eight is welcome to join the adventure to see the vibrant fish, Sharks, and Rays. Professional marine biologists will provide a training orientation session so you can learn about the kind of species you might see.

2. .Take a Leap of Faith

The Leap of Faith at the waterpark is a must-do if you're looking for adventure (warning: not for the timid), and you'll understand why after you do it for yourself! The 98-foot gigantic waterslide will make your heart race as it launches you into a clear acrylic tube while Sharks and Rays swim about you as it plummets you in an almost vertical direction at a terrifying pace of 60 km/h in 3 seconds. It will undoubtedly rank among your most thrilling experiences at the Atlantis water park, Aquaventure.

3. Ride on Poseidon’s Revenge

One of the most exciting slides in the Middle East, this one is modelled after the Tower of Neptune's Leap of Faith but is scarier. As you enter a chamber or capsule with trapdoors that is completely different from a typical slide entrance, feel your heart race and your excitement surge. You are propelled upside down on the ride as the ground shifts beneath you, sending you tumbling 31 metres through the loops of the 116-meter water slide at a speed of 60 km/h.

4. Atlantean Flyer

Enjoy stunning vistas of Dubai and the tropical waterscape of the Atlantis resort while experiencing the exhilaration of skydiving and hang gliding on the longest zip-line in the Middle East. The world's first zip line integrated into a waterslide tower is the 65-foot-long Flyer zipline ride at Aquaventure Waterpark. The zipline's magnetic braking mechanism can instantly stop riders travelling at high speeds of 15 km/h, and the entire journey only takes one minute.

5. Splash on Aquaconda

Do you want to take your family on a 6-seater raft adventure? Aquaconda is the largest six-person waterslide tube in the world, measuring 210 metres in length and 25 metres in height. As you twist and flip through its meandering bends with tremendous vertical banking to 4.6 metres, this serpentine waterslide experience surprises you. On two AquaTubes, riders are sent flying up the sidewalls by its narrow 9.2-meter section and jaw-dropping speeds of up to 35 km/h.

6. Defy Gravity with Zoomerango

On Zoomerango, experience gravity like no other coaster. Slide up and down the 25- meter-high and 156-meter-long big six-person slide to experience a variety of thrills, such as mega drop plummets and vertical zooms that briefly make you feel weightless at the apex. The most well-liked attraction at Poseidon Tower, the gigantic water raft adventure, provides an exhilarating, heart-pounding experience.

7. Enjoy the Rapids

The Rapids is a 1.6-kilometer river adventure ride that will give you an adrenaline rush as you twist and tumble through ferocious rivers. It is the only river in the Middle East with multiple-level rapids and the longest waterpark river. Along the Rapids, there are

numerous huge pools with roomy sun decks, where one can effortlessly dip in and out of the water, while exploring the tropical waterscape of the waterpark.

8. On The Torrent, cruise through the Atlantean waterscape

Aquaventure Waterpark's exclusive unique attraction, The Torrent River, has a 700-meter long tidal wave river and is only available there. As the wave generator generates a wave surge that can produce swells up to 1 metre high and 94,000 litres per minute, you will be able to float along with the tide waves while being thrown and guided in your inner tubes down the course of the river on the wave crests.

9. Make a Splash

Splashers makes for the best playground, complete with interactive water play for kids of all ages, from toddlers to teens, as well as daring parents. There are eight slides in Splashers, including two twin slides. Family pleasure is elevated to a splashtastic level by the enormous bucket in Splashers, which tips over and dumps a whopping 1,400 litres of water on the heads of kids in the pool. It also has several interactive play aspects.
